Volunteer Staff vacancies:

Following recent retirements and resignations together with internal realignment of existing portfolios,, the PLC wishes to fill a number of vacancies on its Board. Those people who are familiar with the PLC will know that, following a process of formal review, the Company restructured its Board in 2015/16 to create a portfolio based system of Director roles which are aligned to the strategic and policy requirements of the PLC as well as being designed to support the key Departmental functions across the organisation.

 We now have opportunities for people to come forward to be considered for the following Director portfolios either singly or in combination:

 * Governance

* Commercial and Marketing (one integrated portfolio)

* Mechanical Engineering

* Operations

* Human Resources

 In order to enable potential candidates to understand a bit more about how the PLC operates and what each portfolio means in terms of content and commitment, there will be an informal discussion on a group basis with individuals who come forward with an expression of interest. Following this, those people who wish to pursue their applications for specific portfolios will be invited to submit a CV with references to be followed by formal interview. Appointments will then be made subject to Panel decisions and references.

 We are therefore inviting expressions of interest in the first instance from people who wish to know more about the roles and Director remits to be followed by the formal recruitment process.

 Stage I

 Informal discussions will be held in the first two weeks of February. Dates, times and venue will be notified to the individual concerned.

 Stage II

 Formal applications will be invited and interviews to be held in the first two weeks in March. Dates times and venue will be notified to shortlisted candidates.  Stage III

 Decisions made and appointments confirmed (subject to references) by the end of March. Successful candidates will be invited to join the April meeting of the Board.
