Spring Steam Gala Literary Festival
(16/01/2012 @ 09:26:00)
If there any authors with books or articles in preparation about railways or rail travel they may be interested in the following as a chance to meet representatives of the specialist publishing trade face to face. Or if you are a member of the public, enthusiast or not, and would like to meet some authors and publishers in this field please come along between March 23rd and 25th to Minehead Railway Station during the second weekend of the Spring Steam Gala.
The West Somerset Railway and leading railway publishers (Silver Link Publishing, Ian Allan, Past and Present Publishing, Kingfisher Publishing, Middleton Press and Oakwood Press) are getting together to hold a Railway Literary Festival as a major part of the second weekend of the Gala. The plan is to have an area of Minehead Railway Station dedicated to Railway books with displays and sales stands. The public will have the opportunity to meet the publishers and as many authors as can be persuaded to attend to meet their readers. Signing copies of their respective books for customers will form an important part of the event.
In addition there will be a dedicated room with audio visual equipment available for presentations, slide shows, quizzes etc, etc.
The organisers are Silver Link Publishing who can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org. They are not in a position to contribute to expenses for attending this event although authors taking an active part will be provided refreshments at staff rates and West Somerset Railway train tickets for the days attended.
