Mineral Line Tours - Book Now!
(01/05/2011 @ 09:04:00)
As with many rural railways which closed very early their remoteness and lack of local population has meant that quite a large number of buildings and structures have survived (there being little demand for alternative uses), although many are on private land and those that have not found other uses in private hands have become derelict.
Martyn Babb of Blue Motors of Exmoor has run successful trips in the past to show passengers these survivals and this year he and the West Somerset Railway are joing forces to offer three days exploring this part of Exmoors Heritage.
Customers will travel on the 10.25
from Bishops Lydeard or the 10.15 from Minehead, arriving at Williton at
about 11.00. A Blue Motors bus will meet you and will conduct customers
along the former route of the old Mineral Line which was built to bring
the ore down from the Brendon Hills to the harbour at Watchet. There
will be a lunchtime stop at the the Rest and be Thankful, arriving back
at Minehead to take the 16.05 train back to Bishops Lydeard or may your
way home from Minehead.
Don't delay and book today online or by calling 01643 704996.
